As I was walking in the area of mile marker 226 I saw a fin sticking up from the sargassum. Walking over to investigate, I found that it was a stranded Spinner Dolphin. (Well, to be honest, I saw that it was a stranded dolphin, I was informed later that it was a Spinner.)

Using the nifty fifty for copying old negatives and slides
The nifty fifty is a useful lens for copying negatives and slides using extension tubes and a light box. I took this original photo of a Snow Leopard at Banham Zoo, Norfolk, England in the early 1990s with a Canon AE1 and a Vivitar 100-200mm zoom lens (c 1979). I copied the negative using a Canon EOS300D camera and a 'nifty fifty' 50mm f1.8 lens using £4 Chinese uncoupled extension tubes with the lens pre-stopped down to f11. Most of the background was white sky so i cleaned up the rest in Photoshop.
