Capybara

This animal belongs to the largest living species of rodent in the world. They are a semi-aquatic animal coming from the east side of the Andes in South America. Their extinct ancestors were about eight times the size of this capybara seen here. This is easily as large of an animal as a medium to medium-large sized dog.
Red Wolf

Red Wolves are critically endanged, and they nearly went extinct a few decades ago. There are only a few hundred of these beautiful creatures left, but Lincoln Park Zoo is playing a vital role in the Red Wolf Species Survival Plan.
