Mineralised animal bone

These fragments of mineralised animal bone were found in an eroding peat layer dredged from the East Coast region. It was not possible to identify which species they are though they are thought to have come from large herbivores. The eroding peat layer that they were discovered in is likely to date from the Mesolithic.
These finds were discovered by staff in the aggregate industry and reported through the Marine Aggregates Reporting Protocol.
